My Analysis of Gita - Introduction

This analysis of Gita is based on translated text from "Bhagvada Gita As It Is" by Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada. The analysis is done entirely based on the text, what is spoken within Gita not referring to other scriptures. Reason being Gita itself is complete book of knowledge and doesn't need reference to understand from other scriptures. However, there are other scriptures with similar verses as contained in Gita which substantiate it more. Again there are other facts about Gita which are not covered. For example someone may question Arjuna was suppose to be great devotee so why he got confused. Great Acharyas have given reason for that: It was Krishna's wish to speak Gita and He influenced Arjuna by Yoga Maya to act as a confused person so that He can speak Gita for benefit of whole Humankind. For purpose of this analysis, we are considering Arjuna to be normal human being and Krishna his friend. Gita starts with Arjuna's confusion and decision not to fight and then Krishna convinces him by various means why he should fight and concludes when Arjuna accept to fight. So this discussion will be treated as conversation (just before the battle is starting) between two friends, where one of them thinks the fighting is not correct and other convinces him why he should fight. For my benefit I have read the commentary from "Bhagvada Gita As It Is" by Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada to get better understanding would recommend all to do so.

A person acting in the service of Krsna with body, mind, intelligence and words is a liberated person even within the material world, although he may be engaged in many so-called material activities. (Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu 1.2.187)

When one is not attached to anything but at the same time accepts everything in relation to Krsna, one is rightly situated above possessiveness. On the other hand, one who rejects everything without knowledge of its relationship to Krsna is not as complete in his renunciation.
