List of Ekadshi

The twenty-four ekadasi names
Suta Gosvami said, "There are twelve months in a year, and two Ekadasis in each month. Thus there are twenty-four Ekadasis in one full year, and in leap-year there are two extra Ekadasis. 0 great sages, please listen attentively as I declare to you the names of these auspicious Ekadasis They are:


Utpanna
Moksada
Saphala
Putrada




Sat-tila
Jaya
Vijaya
Amalaki


Papamocani
Kamada
Varuthini
Mohini


Apara
Nirjala
Yogini
Padma (Devasayani)


Kamika
Putrada
Aja
Parivartini


Indira
Papankusa
Rama
Haribodhini (Devotthani)


Padmini and Parama are the two extra Ekadasis, occuring in a leap-year.

"O sages, one who hears about these Ekadasis will learn how to observe them properly.Each Ekadasi bestows particular benefits on the faithful observer. "One who is physically unable to fast on Ekadasi may read the glories of each Ekadasi when it occurs and recite all the names of the Ekadasis; thus he will achieve the same goal as the person who observes the full Ekadasi vow."

When one is not attached to anything but at the same time accepts everything in relation to Krsna, one is rightly situated above possessiveness. On the other hand, one who rejects everything without knowledge of its relationship to Krsna is not as complete in his renunciation.
